About This Firearm
Most .300 Win Mag rifles are heavy on purpose. This one is not, at 7.75 lbs with a 24-inch barrel, a 1:10 twist and three rounds in the detachable magazine. What CZ puts behind that is an accuracy guarantee it checks on each rifle as it is built, which is unusual at any weight and rare in a magnum.
A light magnum needs something at the muzzle, and the threads are already cut for a brake or a suppressor. The receiver carries Weaver rails machined into the aluminum, so the ring pattern is settled before you shop. Controlled feeding keeps the round on the bolt face whether the rifle is level, tipped uphill or lying on its side, and the silent safety sits on top of the grip where a thumb reaches it without a click.
The Ruger American Rifle Generation II Patrol in this chambering has an MSRP of $769, a Picatinny rail and a 20-inch barrel, four inches shorter than this one, and it weighs 6.8 lbs.

Strengths & Limitations
- The barrel comes off at the owner's bench. CZ designed the barrel-to-receiver joint for caliber changes, so a cheaper chambering can share this action for practice while the magnum barrel waits for the season.
- Magnums are hard on barrels, and CZ's lifetime barrel warranty covers function and accuracy, with the receiver separately rated for 20,000 rounds.
- Trigger pull is set by the owner to one of four weights between 1.4 and 3.1 lbs, no gunsmith and no spring kit involved.
- A rifle this light in this chambering kicks exactly as the arithmetic says, and nothing is fitted at the muzzle to soften it.
- Length of pull is 14 inches. A long stock, a magnum and a scope is the combination that marks eyebrows.
- There are no iron sights of any kind, so a scope failure in the field ends the hunt rather than slowing it down.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a muzzle brake fitted?
No, the muzzle is threaded and bare. The pattern is 5/8-24, so a brake or a suppressor cut for it goes on with a wrench, and a thread protector is the alternative if you want it clean.
Can it be loaded from the top?
Yes. The magazine can be locked in place instead of being dropped out, and cartridges then go in through the receiver one at a time.
What does the accuracy guarantee actually say?
Sub-MOA at 100 yards, measured as three-shot groups with match-grade factory ammunition, verified on each rifle during production. Hunting loads are outside the terms.
Will Picatinny rings fit?
Not as a rule. The rails machined into the receiver are Weaver, and the cross slots are narrower than Picatinny, so mounts have to be Weaver pattern or made to work with both.
