A Waiting Period, Not Once In A Lifetime

Draw one and you wait 4 years before applying again.

No lifetime bar, but the nonresident bag limit is one full-curl-or-larger ram every four regulatory years, so taking a ram closes the next three. The rule for residents differs. No lifetime bar and no statewide waiting period: residents hunt under a per-unit full-curl bag limit instead.

There is no statewide nonresident cap; the sheep caps are hunt-specific under 5 AAC 92.057 - 10% in the Tok Management Area and the Delta Controlled Use Area, up to 20% in Unit 13(D), up to 10% in Unit 14(A), and 5% of the archery permits with 13% of the rest in Unit 14(C). A nonresident also needs a registered guide or a close Alaska-resident relative.
