.17 Hornet Trajectory Calculator

The .17 Hornet is a centerfire varmint cartridge that bridges the gap between rimfire and larger centerfires. With a 20-grain bullet at 3,610 fps and a 100-yard zero, expect about 2.3 inches of drop at 200 yards, 5.4 inches at 250 yards, and 10.1 inches at 300 yards. Low recoil and flat trajectory make it effective on prairie dogs and other small varmints out to 300 yards.

Use the calculator to match your specific load. Click "Modify Calculation" to enter your bullet weight, muzzle velocity, and ballistic coefficient. The .17 Hornet typically runs 15.5 to 25 grain bullets at velocities from 3,400 to 3,800 fps. You can also factor in wind, shooting angle, and atmospheric conditions.
