The Walther PDP Pro SD Full Size 5.1-inch is a full-size striker-fired 9mm built as a suppressor host. It has an MSRP of $999. Its barrel leaves the factory threaded 1/2 x 28 with polygonal rifling, so a can or a compensator screws on with no barrel swap and no gunsmith.

Three 18-round magazines come with it, one more than the standard full-size pistol includes, and the trigger is the Dynamic Performance Trigger in place of the Performance Duty Trigger used elsewhere in the line. SuperTerrain serrations project off the slide for a wet hand and a loaded chamber indicator reads by feel. The slide is cut for a plate-mounted optic and neither the plate nor the dot is included, so the mount is a separate purchase, and no suppressor comes with it either. A pistol this long with a threaded muzzle also rules out holsters cut for a standard PDP, and there is no manual safety.

The FN 509 Tactical uses the same 1/2x28 thread at an MSRP of $989, weighs 27.9 oz and holds 17 rounds, which means a piston or muzzle device bought for one fits the other.
