About This Firearm
The Glock G43X MOS adds a factory optic cut to the thinnest Glock 9mm. At 18.55 oz and 1.1" wide with 10 rounds, it keeps the same dimensions as the standard G43X while accepting Shield RMSc-pattern micro red dots like the Holosun 407K/507K. The included adapter plates mean you mount an optic straight from the box with no gunsmith wait time. The Sig P365 XL ships optic-ready with 12 rounds at 20.7 oz, giving you 2 more rounds for about 2 oz of additional weight. But the P365 XL is 0.2" wider at the grip, and the G43X MOS keeps that 1.1" profile that appendix carriers prefer.
The 5.4 lb trigger, 3.41" barrel, and 5.04" grip height are identical to the standard G43X. The MOS version actually weighs 0.15 oz less due to the material removed for the optic cut. The Ruger MAX-9 offers optic-ready capability with 12 rounds at 18.4 oz, but its trigger pull runs heavier and the aftermarket is a fraction of Glock's. If you plan to mount a red dot on a slim carry gun, this is one of two realistic options in the 1.1"-wide range.
Best For
Strengths & Limitations
- Factory optic cut with included adapter plates eliminates the need for aftermarket slide milling. Accepts Holosun 407K/507K, Shield RMSc, and Crimson Trace CTS-1500 out of the box.
- At 18.55 oz and 1.1" wide, it is the lightest and slimmest optic-ready 9mm from a major manufacturer. The Sig P365 XL measures 1.3" wide, and the Ruger MAX-9 runs 1.18".
- Ten-round capacity is 2 behind the Sig P365 XL at 12 and 2 behind the Ruger MAX-9 at 12. Both competitors pack more rounds into a similar weight class.
- The MOS adapter plate system uses four small screws that allow slight movement. Removing and reinstalling the optic requires re-zeroing. Aftermarket direct-mount plates from CHPWS or Forward Controls Design reduce this problem but add another purchase.
- Ships with basic white-dot sights that sit low enough for co-witness with most micro dots, but they are not night sights. Running a red dot without backup tritium sights means no sighting option if the battery dies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which red dots fit the G43X MOS without modifications?
The MOS system ships with adapter plates for the Shield RMSc footprint, which covers the Holosun 407K, Holosun 507K, Shield RMSc, and Crimson Trace CTS-1500. You cannot mount full-size optics like the Trijicon RMR or Holosun 507C without a different adapter plate from an aftermarket company. The Holosun 407K is the most popular choice among owners for its battery life and window size.
Should I get the G43X MOS or the standard G43X?
If you plan to run a red dot now or in the next year, get the MOS. If you have no interest in optics, the standard G43X saves you money for identical specs. The MOS weighs 0.15 oz less and has a black nDLC slide instead of the standard silver nPVD, but those differences are trivial. The decision comes down to whether you want a factory optic cut or not.
