Product Overview
Ammo Inc's Signature load uses a 240-grain TMC bullet, fully enclosed so no lead is exposed. It leaves the muzzle at 1,430 fps with 1,090 ft-lbs of energy, a power factor of 343 that is more than double the 165 major floor. The brass case can be reloaded.
From a 25-yard zero the bullet is 0.7 inches low at 50 yards, so one hold covers everything inside that distance. Past 50 the drop builds quickly: it is 6.0 inches low at 100 yards, with 5.3 of those inches coming in the second 50 yards. The recoil matches the power. A 240-grain bullet at 1,430 fps is a full-power .44 Magnum load, well above the caliber's mild range and cowboy loads, and it is a lot for a newer shooter to manage across a long session. The enclosed bullet is the other reason to pick it, since some indoor ranges restrict exposed lead.
Buy it as a range load for practicing with full Magnum recoil, especially at an indoor range that restricts exposed lead. Newer shooters who want a gentler start should look at HSM Cowboy Action 240-grain semi-wadcutter, which leaves the muzzle 280 fps slower and produces about 31 percent less recoil energy in the same revolver. It is plain lead, though, so check the range rules before buying it.
