Product Overview
Fiocchi Defense Dynamics 158-grain JHP is a jacketed hollow point .357 Magnum load made for self-defense. Fiocchi publishes 1,220 fps and nothing else, and the 522 ft-lbs is worked out from it.
Zeroed at 25 yards, it is 1.1 inches low at 50, where it carries 1,109 fps and 431 ft-lbs. It sits at the soft end of what .357 Magnum does at full bullet weight, which in a small revolver counts for a good deal. The drop at 50 yards is a shade over an inch.
If you're cross-shopping, Hornady's Custom 158-grain XTP is 30 fps faster at 1,250 fps with 26 ft-lbs more at the muzzle. Federal's Fusion 158-grain is a bonded soft point at 1,240 fps and 539 ft-lbs, 20 fps and 17 ft-lbs ahead.
