About This Firearm
The P226 Legion is SIG's upgraded full-size DA/SA P226, built for shooters who want a factory-tuned hammer gun instead of sending one to a gunsmith. It is 8.0 inches long, weighs 33.0 oz and ships with three 15-round magazines. The buyer is usually choosing between it, the plainer P226 Elite, and a steel-frame DA/SA from Beretta or CZ.
The Legion's changes are to the controls and grip. It gets a Grayguns-designed P-SAIT trigger on top of SIG's Short Reset Trigger, a reduced and contoured beavertail, more aggressive front-strap checkering plus checkering under the trigger guard, an X-Five undercut, low-profile decocking and slide catch levers, and a solid steel guide rod. The SIG Sauer P226 Elite keeps the same frame, but with the standard trigger, SIGLITE sights and standard grips. The Beretta 92X Performance Defensive is the steel-frame alternative and weighs 9.7 oz more. The CZ 75 SP-01 holds four more rounds, but it uses a thumb safety instead of a decocker.
Buy the P226 Legion if you want a tuned, optic-ready DA/SA P226 with the trigger work already done. Skip it if a stock trigger is fine by you; the P226 Elite is the same pistol underneath.
