This gives Critical Defense more consistent expansion across a range of barrier conditions than most traditional JHP designs.

Everyday carry in the warmer months or as a year-round option in a subcompact .40 is the ideal use case. The nickel-plated brass resists tarnish from body heat and humidity. The lower velocity means less muzzle flash and less concussive blast in enclosed spaces like a hallway or vehicle interior.
