Hornady Custom .32 ACP 60gr XTP JHP provides a traditional jacketed hollow point option for .32 ACP carriers. The XTP bullet has been around for decades and has a solid track record for controlled expansion. At 1000 fps with 133 ft-lbs of energy, this load matches the velocity of the Critical Defense but uses a conventional hollow point instead of the polymer-tipped FTX.
The XTP design expands progressively based on velocity and target resistance. In the .32 ACP's velocity range, expect modest but consistent expansion. This load works in pistols like the Beretta Tomcat, Walther PPK/S in .32, or the Seecamp LWS 32. Brass cases cycle reliably and can be reloaded for practice.
Choose this over the Critical Defense if you prefer a traditional hollow point design or find the XTP feeds better in your particular pistol. Some older guns with tighter feed ramps run better with conventional JHP profiles than polymer-tipped bullets. Either way, this Hornady load gives your small pistol better terminal performance than ball ammunition.
