The Hornady V-Match 80gr ELD-VT is a varmint and target load designed for high-volume shooting. At 3,300 fps with a 0.410 G1 BC, the light bullet shoots flat and reaches targets fast. The ELD-VT uses a polymer tip and boat tail for consistent flight. Hornady built this load for prairie dog towns and target practice where shooters fire hundreds of rounds in a session.
The 1,934 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and explosive expansion make this effective on varmints out to 400 yards. The light bullet also means less recoil, so shooters can spot their own shots more easily. This load works in both bolt guns and AR-10 platforms. The thin jacket fragments quickly on small animals, making it unsuitable for game you want to eat but ideal for pest control.
