Product Overview
Hornady developed the FTX bullet to extend lever-gun range. This 325gr load exits at 2000 fps with 3032 ft-lbs of energy. The flexible polymer tip allows safe use in tubular magazines while improving the ballistic coefficient. The bullet shoots flatter than traditional flat-nose loads past 100 yards.
The FTX tip also initiates expansion on impact, creating consistent mushrooming across a range of velocities. Deer and elk hunters can take confident shots out to 200 yards with proper holdover. At woods distances, the high velocity and controlled expansion put game down quickly. This is one of the most popular .45-70 hunting loads for good reason.
