Grizzly designed this +P load for dangerous game. The 460gr wide flat nose gas check bullet exits at 1850 fps and delivers 3495 ft-lbs of energy. That combination of mass and velocity will stop a charging brown bear. The hard-cast lead and wide meplat crush bone and drive straight through heavy animals.
This is a specialty load for Alaska, British Columbia, and anywhere else grizzly or moose might need stopping in a hurry. The +P pressure rating means it should only go in modern, strong-actioned rifles. Marlin 1895s and Ruger No. 1s handle it fine. Do not chamber this in trapdoor actions or older Winchester 1886s unless they have been inspected by a qualified gunsmith.
