PMC markets the Bronze 150-grain PSP for target shooting or hunting. The bullet is a pointed soft point, a jacketed lead-core bullet with lead exposed at the tip. It is rated at a G1 BC of .336 and leaves the muzzle at 2,820 fps. Zeroed at 100 yards, it drops about 14 inches at 300.

Compared with Hornady's American Whitetail 150, the PMC matches it almost exactly. The two leave the muzzle at the same speed and kick the same in the same rifle, and at 400 yards a steady 10 mph wind blowing across the range pushes each of them about 18 inches sideways. Compared with PPU's Standard Rifle 165, a heavier soft point with a boat tail, the PMC starts 146 fps faster, but the PPU holds up better in the wind: at 500 yards the same wind pushes the PMC about 30 inches and the PPU about 23. Zeroed at 100 yards, both drop about 62 inches at 500, and the PPU kicks about 14 percent harder in the same rifle.

Buy the PMC Bronze 150-grain PSP if you want one soft point for both range days and hunting, as PMC markets it, with the lighter kick of a 150. Pick the American Whitetail 150 if you want Hornady's InterLock bullet on the same trajectory; Hornady markets it for large game. Pick PPU's Standard Rifle 165 if your shots run to 400 or 500 yards where wind matters; at 400 yards it drifts about 4 inches less. For practice that feels the same, Federal's American Eagle 150-grain is a full metal jacket range load with the same muzzle speed and recoil.
