Hornady Critical Duty .357 SIG 135gr FlexLock JHP is a barrier-blind duty load built for law enforcement and serious defensive carry. The FlexLock bullet uses a patented Flex Tip insert that prevents the hollow cavity from clogging with clothing or drywall. An InterLock band mechanically locks the jacket to the core, so the bullet stays in one piece through intermediate barriers like auto glass, sheet metal, and plywood. At 1,225 fps from a 4-inch barrel, this 135gr load trades raw velocity for heavier bullet momentum.
The 135gr weight is heavier than the standard 125gr .357 SIG bullet. This changes the terminal dynamics. The heavier bullet penetrates deeper and retains more weight after expansion.
